Laurie Saling: Owner/Director/Lead Teacher
Laurie has worked in education over 15 years in a variety of capacities. She began as an elementary teacher of first and second grade and then as an elementary school counselor supporting children’s academic and social-emotional development preschool through grade three. She holds a B.S. and a M.A. in Education and is a certificated teacher. She is thrilled to have her own school to put all of her educational and human development philosophies into practice. She loves being in the process and journey of children discovering their world and their inner capacities. When she is not at the Madrona School you can find Laurie playing in the great outdoors with her two children and husband.
Laurie Rotecki: Lead Teacher
Co-Teacher with Laurie Saling, Laurie Rotecki is a certified teacher with preschool and elementary endorsements. She also had a Master of Arts in Human Development. Laurie delights in creating educational environments that entice children to explore, take risks, develop problem solving skills and SHINE! She has worked and played with children of all ages for the past 35 years. Laurie shares her passion for the Arts; music, movement, visual art and drama as well as her dedication to building community. She is excited to be a part of the Madrona team where everyone is respected for who they are, exploring and growing together. Away from Madrona School, Laurie is an avid gardener, sings in the Kulshan Chorus, spends tons of time in awe of the natural world, enjoys traveling, and is excited to be a granny for the first time!
